When I Kissed the Captain...

Posted on Sat Aug 7th, 2021 @ 9:38pm by Lieutenant JG Eleanor Ellsworth & Captain Björn Kodak

Mission: The Place of Skulls
Location: Crew Quarters
Timeline: Mission Day 3 at 0700

From the moment the Lieutenant's naked toes touched the floor panels she was uplifted by a high energy spirit. She was in such a glorious mood that it seemed to radiate from her pores, and she had an infectious smile that she just couldn’t shake. She was wide awake and just ripe for an adventure. Whenever she was in such a mood, she could not help being a little silly. Upon stepping out of the sonic shower she only felt more alive and refreshed. She carefully pulled up and pinned a towel around her axilla. She paused to stare at herself a moment in her mirror as her digits moved around a nearby shelf to retrieve a hairbrush. Once located her hands grasped around it and she brought it upside down to her lips. Eleanor tilted her hip outward and cocked her head to the side as her chin lowered to the brush.

‘Computer, hit it!” she called out.

Within moments a catchy jingle rang out over her once quiet quarters. She carefully cleared her throat and began to sing…

Everybody screamed
When I kissed the captain
And they must have thought they dreamed
When I kissed the captain

All my friends on ship
They had never seen the captain blush
He looked like a fool
Nearly petrified 'cause he was taken by surprise

When I kissed the captain
Couldn't quite believe his eyes
When I kissed the captain
The whole bridge went wild
As I held my breath
The ship stood still but then he just smiled
I was in the seventh heaven
When I kissed the captain

What a mad shift
Now I see everything in a different light
What a mad shift
I was up in the air
And he gave me a promotion alright

I was in a trance
When I kissed the captain
Suddenly I took the chance
When I kissed the captain
Leaning over me at the helm
He was trying to explain the prime directive
And I couldn't help it
I just had to kiss the captain

What a mad shift
Now I see everything in a different light
What a mad shift
And he gave me a promotion alright

Eleanor lifted her knee up high and began to jerk her hips. She lowered her head and began to twirl her hair around wildly, comb still in hand. When every strand of her hair was fluffed and free she lifted her comb up high and her legs began to gitter to the beat of the song, her body lifted up to her tippy toes. She then danced all around her quarters as she continued to sing, she paid little attention to anything else.

What a crazy shift
When I kissed the captain
All my sense had warped away
When I kissed the captain
The whole bridge went wild
As I held my breath
The ship stood still, but then he just smiled
I was in the seventh heaven

Eleanor began to dance backward, she continued to flick her hair, her arms and legs jerked to the music. She really gave it her all. Her voice echoed through her quarters along with the instrumental from the computer. When she got to the final verse she leaned back with her comb as if she was doing a free fall into a wild audience. She belted out the final verse.

When I kissed the captain
When I kissed the captain

Unknown to her she was a little too close to her quarter’s door, when she leaned back she stumbled backward out the door and into the corridor. Swoosh! She would have lost her footing had it not been ironically for the passing Chameloid captain. Concealed with a towel, comb still in hand she smiled up at him, held in his arms. He returned her gaze with a dumbfounded look, his eyebrow lifted.

“Well hello there," Kodak finally said in that rasp of his. Befuddlement had given way to bemusement as the Captain looked down at Eleanor with kind eyes. "I'll say this," he chuckled, "you've certain caught me off guard. Didn't expect someone to tumble out of their quarters when walking by like this."

“I believe Captain, if Starfleet has taught us anything, we would be wise to always expect the unexpected…” Eleanor returned.

“Quite true,” the Captain said as he helped the woman to her feet. From inside the open quarters, When I Kissed the Captain was still playing loudly enough to spill into the hallway. Kodak smirked at that, wondering if the young woman had been dancing when she fell out of her door. "Interesting song choice," the Chameloid's eyes danced with mischief.

Eleanor blushed a little as she shot him two finger guns and winked, “Catch you later Cap’n!” She smiled sweetly and returned through the swoosh of her quarter doors. She called out, “Computer, pump it! Louder!”
