| General Overview | Leighton is what some would call reserved. He can be quiet at times, but is not completely introverted. He is third generation Starfleet. His father is a starship captain, and his grandfather is the former Starfleet JAG. Leighton has always had to worry about the expectations of his family, and he’s always worried if he can meet that challenge. He has often said he is most content when he is focusing on his work. | |

Weaknesses: Leighton can be a stickler for protocol, sometimes preferring to go the safe route rather than taking risks. Although when he does take risks, he commits to that decision. |

| Hobbies & Interests | Leighton’s mother encouraged him to read classical Earth literature when he was younger, and as such he is a prolific reader. He also enjoys building model starships when he can. Growing up in Montana, Leighton became an experienced horseman, and still rides when he can on the holodeck. He also enjoys playing various parts in theatrical productions on the holodeck, though only in his personal time. |
| Personal History | .Leighton was born in 2376 on Starbase 10. He is the only child of his parents, Captain Nathaniel Romanowski and Amber Romanowski. His father, then a Lieutenant on the USS KRAKOW, had wanted his family to stay close to his sector, and his mother had taken a teaching position at Starbase 10. However, his father moved Leighton and his mother back to Earth to his native Montana when he was 3 due to the ongoing instability in the region. Starbase 10 was close to the Romulan Neutral Zone, and the aftermath of the Reman coup left many questions about the Romulan Government’s stability. Leighton grew up on his family’s homestead in Billings. His Grandfather, Rear Admiral Thomas Romanowski, was the Starfleet Judge Advocate General and was a great role model to the young boy. His father took leave home when he could, but being a career Starfleet officer, he was away for most of his formative years. Leighton knew that he was expected to follow in his father’s footsteps, and he always struggled to live up to those expectations. While at the Academy, his father and grandfather’s reputations followed him, and he often struggled to make his own name. While his family never exerted any influence, some of his peers often assumed that he carried favoritism. While he was academically gifted, his own self confidence made him play it safe. Leighton and his mother were always close, and the two relied on each other when his father was away. After graduating high school, Leighton was accepted into the Starfleet Academy, making his father and grandfather proud. While at the Academy, Leighton realized he had a gift for analytics and statistics. While he tried to go the command path, he decided to shift his focus to Operations. Upon graduating in the top percentile of his class, Leighton’s first posting was to the USS BOMBAY as a diagnostic engineer. Upon completing his two years, he was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and assigned to the USS SOJOURNER. | |
