| General Overview | Michael is a pretty outgoing guy, most of the time. He does, however, have the habit of working extremely long hours and lets sleep and rest slide when he shouldn't. As a result, he becomes what his mother calls, an ogre. He is an excellent physician and takes a vested interest in all of his patients. |
History
| Personal History | Michael Farraday Solace was born on Bajor in the Rhutan Province in 2372, Earth Standard. His parents were part of a Federation agricultural mission, sent to assist the Bajorans in revitalizing their planet in the wake of so much conflict occurring there during Cardassian Occupation and the Dominion War. Michael's father, Garrett, was a botanist who was tasked in leading the effort to rebuild the Bajoran ecological tables for the whole planet. With soil regeneration techniques and high yield fertilizers, Bajor once again became green. In Michael's fourteenth year on Bajor, the unthinkable happened and Garrett Solace was killed in an industrial accident. The elder Solace had been inspecting an agricultural station not far from their home when a grain containment unit exploded. Michael's father was vaporized. There was no funeral. The death of his father struck him hard, but he knew had to be strong for his mother, Naomi. They both returned to Earth a year later and once the young man was sure his mother would be alright, he applied to Starfleet Academy. At sixteen years of age, Michael was not sure what he wanted do in the fleet and it was not until his sophomore year that he shifted into the Medical prerequisites of the Academy. Solace found that he had a real knack for medicine and went on to attend Starfleet Medical School in 2392 and then, the Daystrom Xeno-Biological Institutes in 2396, which he graduated from with honors. His main focus was set on a starship posting, which he achieved with a posting the USS Toronado as a Medical Officer. In 2399, he was assigned to the USS Sojourner as its Chief Medical Officer. |
